BIBLE: This week we continued to learn about how God gives us a way to live. We studied the lives of Paul and Barnabus. We learned that they served God even though it was hard. *We will have a test on Friday, 6/4. I sent home a study guide along with a matching game that your child has made. Your child should have 6 gifts that God gave us with an * before it (*a place to live, *a family, *His Word, *helpers, *leaders, *His Son, *a way to live). The “stories” have a line before them. Have your child match the story to the correct gift. Use the study guide to check the answers
MATH:
1st Grade finished chapter 7.
2nd Grade finished chapter 7.
WRITING:
Our books are off to the publishers. We can’t wait until they are released. We worked hard on them. Look for them soon in the hallway outside our classroom.
OTHER
INFORMATION
*DESKS ARE FOR SALE – If you would like to purchase a desk(s) for $15 each, please see Mrs. Paulsen or Mrs. Sue.
*CLEANING HOUSE – We will be packing up over the next 2 weeks. During that time I will be auctioning off items that I do not need. Your children will bid (using “Eagle Bucks”) for these items, and take home the ones that they win. I will mention to them that you as parents have final say as some of the items are large, or you may not need/want these items cluttering your house. You may want to send in a large bag. You can thank me later for all the “goodies” coming into your houseJ.
*SUMMER ACTIVITIES – I will be sending home some math & spelling pages that we have not finished this year. We do one lesson per day, but the publishers always include more than we could ever finish in one school year. You may want your child to work on these over the summer to keep their brain “active”. Many children loose information over the summer, and this may help them not lose information they gained this school year. Usually there is a review time at the beginning of each school year, so don’t worry if you don’t get to do these pages. I’ve also included a summer reading book list. I would strongly encourage your child to keep up with his/her reading over the summer.
FUN DAY – Grades 1-2 will be having a day of fun on Monday, 6/7. Be looking for more details soon.
